What is Mixed Martial Arts?
“Mixed Martial Arts” also known as “MMA” refers to a combination of several martial art styles blended or mixed. The combat sport of MMA allows striking, grappling, takedowns, throws and submission holds in a competitive arena. Most successful modern MMA fighters cross train in a Striking style such as Boxing, Kick Boxing, Muay Thai or Sanda, mixed with a grappling style such as Nogi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, judo and Wrestling an MMA fighter will be well versed in all areas of unarmed combat.
What do I need to start?
If you have safety equipment from other sports or previous martial arts training, bring it along. Otherwise don't worry to begin with, you will be permitted to join the training to learn and drill techniques.
Live sparring, wrestling and rolling (Brazilian jujitsu sparring) is not permitted until you have the appropriate equipment and insurance in place.

For your first night or two wear a tee-shirt and shorts, bring along some water and a towel.

*Equipment required for full training is must have your own Protective equipment and next generation uniforms!

What's the benefits of MMA training?

Do I have to compete/fight?
Not at all! Only a small percentage of MMA Practitioners worldwide compete at any level. The option is there to compete in many facets of combat sports, such as K1 Kickboxing, Sanda, Brazilian Jujitsu and MMA.
Do I need to be fit to begin?
Absolutely not. We caters for people of all fitness levels (even to those who have never done any type of athletic activity). Our programs are designed to maximize your chances of achieving your goals in the shortest amount of time. All of our programs allow complete beginners to progress rapidly towards better health and skills.

Is it safe?
Absolutely. safety is our top priority in everything that we do. We teach martial arts in a safe, fun, and supportive environment under the guidance of highly experienced instructors. Additionally, our facilities are designed specifically for safety. Of course, like in any other sport such as rugby, soccer, or GAA, accidents can occur. Serious accidents are extremely rare in martial arts.

Can I tryout a class before I sign up?

Who can train?
Everyone? From the hobbyist looking to have fun and get fit and healthy (mind and body), to the Martial Artist who wants to develop authentic fighting skills, to the fighter who wants to test themselves in competitions of all levels.

What about woman and children?
Women are of course welcome to join us! For women, learning the arts of self-defense can be a life-changing experience because it empowers them with confidence, knowledge, and determination. It is an empowering feeling to know that you can defend yourself safely in a lot of real life situations.

Can I take private 1 on 1, or avail of small group training?
Yes, we highly recommend that you take private 1-on-1 lessons or arrange for you and a friend to train directly with one of our Instructors.
